Hi.

Starship Hop Test - Second try for SN5

Starship Hop Test - Second try for SN5

Starship is the SpaceX vehicle destined for the moon and Mars. They will soon be conducting a ‘hop test’.

Pointy end up, flamey end down.

UPDATE: It looks like they aborted, reasons unknown - but are likely to be refilling for another try. Possible after midnight in the UK. If it doesn’t happen today, there are further windows this week (including tomorrow)

UPDATE: The flight was at 6:57pm 4th August, local time - 00:57 UTC on 5th August. Well done to all.

UPDATE: SpaceX have released a video showing just the test, with shots that were not available live.

Continuous feed from a vantage point 5.8 miles away

(This feed is good for what is happening ‘now’, but perhaps not the first choice if you want to scrub back)

A feed of the SN5 hop

This is one to use if you want to watch ‘as live’.
