After a hiatus, it's week 3 of the Six Nations, and tonight it is France vs. Wales in Paris at 8pm. France haven't been looking too good, and though they've had two weeks to train, a loss at home seems on the cards for them. Tomorrow it's Ireland vs. England, this is a tough one. England's first game against Italy was a good win, but along the way there were many errors. The performance against Wales, though a loss, was much better. Ireland struggled against Italy in the first half of their match on the 15th Feb - and it looked like Italy might have won. Ireland did run away with the second half.
Originally, I thought Ireland would win, I then changed it to England. Honestly, I don't know who will take the Millennium Trophy.
Before that, at 3pm, it's Scotland vs. Italy. This could be Italy's biggest chance to avoid the wooden spoon, but Scoland has had some good play. I'd be surprised if Italy won, though on the basis of their performance against Ireland in the first half, I wouldn't count them out.
The table right now looks like this:
I'm expecting wins from Wales and Scotland - putting them on 6 and 2 points. I'm hoping for England to beat Ireland, putting them both on 4 points (probably with Ireland ahead on the points scored in the games). Italy will remain on 0 points, and France on 2 points (but ahead of Scotland).
If England beat Ireland, it's not only good for me from the point of view of being English, but as it means Wales should be able to overtake Ireland, and I've got some cash riding on Wales!
If I'm right, the table will be:
