New Muppets?

I loved the Muppet Show growing up. It was fantastic. I really liked 'Muppets Tonight!' too, the recent attempt to get an adult-ish muppet show going again. (Seymour and Pepe singing German Opera, classic... and Johnny Fiama too)

Therefore, I was very pleased to read of the latest concept. The muppets, trying to get a new show together, admit cameras who make a kind of 'reality show documentary'.

The short pilot uses the television syntax of a documentary (think "The Office" meets "The Muppet Show"). The series revolves around Kermit the Frog as he attempts to reassemble the Muppet troupe and launch a new Muppet show. The mockumentary mini-series would feature fictional English filmmaker Ian Bascombe who, with his film crew, follow the daily happenings Kermit and the Muppets, both on and off stage. Bascombe finds that many of the classic Muppets have gone off to other venues since we last saw them and follows Kermit as the frog attempts to track them down and get the whole troupe back together.

Sort of like the Muppet Movie, except they're trying to get the band back together instead of forming it in the first place.

I hope that Johnny Fiama will be discovered in some low end Vegas hotel, sitting crooning, with his little monkey, Sal, still in tow.
