Last night we went to see Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe and Renée Zellweger. This is a film about Kim Braddock, a boxer who, having been on top form in 1929, lost his licence during the great depression. After hitting rock bottom, being unable to pay the bills he gets a second shot.
This is a story based on real events, and it is compelling, even to someone who is normally left cold by boxing. I found it a little slow to get going, but the film soon drew me in and I forgot that.
