UK Snow

It's snowing in the UK. For those outside the UK hearing about it, they may be wondering about all the fuss - other countries do get it deeper and longer (oo-er!) but that's the point. This is exceptional for the UK, and so our coping mechanisms simply don't... cope. (Okay, Northern Ireland isn't getting much, so it's actually mainly just Great Britain, ah well)

We are not used to temperatures of -20 degrees C (as predicted in some places tonight) - or for prolonged snow on the ground. When it does snow, it usually goes away in a day or two.

Anyway, why am I posting this? Well, today has been clear, and so NASA have these rather nifty satellite pics, in 250m, 500m and 1km resolution.
