Catchy, but depressing
The other day, ‘Build me up, Buttercup’, came on the radio.
I haven’t heard this for a while, and so started humming along. Catchy.
Then I listened to the lyrics, which hadn’t really registered before:
Why do you build me up (build me up) Buttercup, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
