I solved the Rubik Cube without having to look anything up for the first time today!
True, I don’t know the algorithm to rotate the final corner pieces once they’re in position, but there is a chance that their orientation is correct once moved in place, and so I got lucky.
Once I know that algorithm I’ll be able to say that I can solve the cube – nevertheless, when I was growing up, the cube was seen as incredibly hard. Solving it seemed beyond the reach of many – it’s actually not, it’s a few fairly easy to learn algorithms which are applied.
Still, that doesn’t stop me being insanely pleased with this!
This is my picture of the day for the 10th March, 2009.

When I was younger, I got incredibly frustrated with my Rubik Cube, and I seem to remember pulling all the stickers off it and putting them back on again. *grin*

Much better to put a screwdriver in under an edge piece, and prize it out.
