Pic A Day – Jan 17th 2009

This is my picture for the 17th January, 2009. We are at Twickenham for the fifth round Heineken Cup match between London Wasps and Leinster.

It was a tense and close game. Cipriani didn’t kick well, and he had slippery hands – but it didn’t matter in the end. There was an excellent try resulting from a run by Josh Lewsey, and the end result was that Wasps won, 19-12.

This means that Wasps top the group with one game to go. If they can comprehensively beat Castres Olympiques next week, we will go to the quarter finals. If we beat them without a bonus point, then we must hope Leinster do not get a bonus whilst beating Edinburgh. If we lose, we must hope Leinster lose to Edinburgh, without a losing bonus.

Essentially, Wasps must do at least as well against Castres as Leinster do against Edinburgh.
