Murkymatic

Murkymatic is a Child Theme for WordPress. It is based on the Thematic Theme Framework, and as such it requires that Thematic be installed.

Murkymatic is open source, and can be obtained from Google Code. The best way to download it is by using subversion – though you can browse the source and download the files manually. When uploading to your server, the theme files should be placed into wp-content/themes/murkymatic. If you use the theme, it’d be nice if you gave a wave to murky.org.

Child themes take a parent theme and modify them in such a way that when the original theme is updated it can simply be replaced, and modifications are not lost. In this way, when Thematic is updated, Murkymatic should still function.

The intention is that Murkymatic will make use of variant.css, a user-supplied stylesheet, to make further customisations. In this way, Murkymatic can be updated without affecting the user modifications.

Note – murkymatic is no longer used on this site. Instead, I use murkytheme – which shares some code, but was written from scratch, nicking bits from murkymatic
