Mont St. Michel is off the coast of Normandy (near the Brittany border) and silt has been gradually filling the bay it’s in. The plan is to add a dam and filter the sediment from the water, so that as the tide retreats, clean dam water ‘flushes’ the silt away. The causeway is to be replaced by a bridge.
