Bullying Government

The LSE have alleged that the government has bullied the experts who wrote the report on ID cards.

My only question is "What took the LSE so long to realise this?"

Why would anyone want to allow voluntarily allow themselves to be tracked using this pervasive scheme, especially when the government proposing it adopts such bullying tactics?

In the past there are concerns that it has responded to railway safety protests by digging up the dirt on citizens (Ms. Pam Warren). An all-knowing database would allow this tactic to be adopted more readily.

Exactly. Is it any wonder people – even people who are generally not too concerned with civlibs – are so fundamentally against when this Government behaves in this manner towards experts? How do you think they’ll treat the hoi polloi? Drug them into getting an ‘ID card’?

Slime, (almost, there are one or two exceptions) all of ‘em. :)
